Qailertetang dwells at the bottom of the sea, and is said to be the companion of Sedna. She’s the Inuit power of animals and hunting animals, but only if the hunt is carried out respectfully. She appears as a large woman wearing heavy boots and seal skins, with muscular limbs and a tattooed face. Her name is also invoked by cutters hoping for better weather, and shamans dress up as Qailertetang in fertility festivals.
