Arinna

Wurunšemu; Mother of the Sun; Queen of All Lands. LG greater power of the solar powers (She/Her)

Pantheon: One Thousand Gods

Symbol: a solar disc with seven rays

Realm: Fire / Prismatic FrontierThrone of the Seven Radiances

Known Proxies: Zintuhi (demipower proxy [she/her] / N)

The radiant Arinna, acts as a benevolent matronly figure for all of the solar deities of the One Thousand Gods. She’s not technically mother to any of them, because of the unusual circumstances of the founding of the pantheon, but she was one of the first of the divine spawn of Kumarbi and her sisterly instincts manifested when she realised their wicked single parent was not interested in their wellbeing, only his own.

Arinna oversees the activities of the large clan of solar deities from the Crowning Glory, the top tier of the Throne of Seven Radiances, the realm they all share on the border of the elemental planes of Fire and Radiance. Her throne room exists as a hall of pure, crystallized radiance that mortal eyes cannot perceive without divine protection. Her seat of power, the Everlight Throne was carved from a single massive sunstone that apparently was quarried from the heart of the sun itself, sits at the precise nexus where elemental Fire and Radiance converge, allowing Arinna to channel both nurturing warmth and searing judgment across the planes.

The ambitious Zintuhi

As one of the several acknowledged queens of the pantheon of One Thousand Gods, Arinna is the divine legitimiser of royal authority and the ultimate arbiter of cosmic justice. Her word carries weight even among the storm gods and underworld rulers. The walls of her throne room are said to display an ever-shifting tapestry of light that reveals the fate of every mortal ruler across the Prime, for Arinna alone among the One Thousand deities bears the title My Sun—the divine source from which all earthly kingship flows. When the wider pantheon convenes in the Temple of One Thousand for matters of cosmic importance, it’s Arinna who calls the assembly and whose golden sceptre, the Rod of Solar Dominion, can compel even the most chaotic deities to maintain divine order during deliberations.

The chief proxy of Arinna is Zintuhi, the divine granddaughter, and a demipower herself. Apparently stuck in the perpetually youthful form of a radiant child, Zintuhi is nonetheless many hundreds of years old, and no doubt sees herself as the natural successor to the aging Arinna.

Source: Jon Winter-Holt. This power is a homebrew addition to the lore. Very little is known about the ancient powers of the Hittites and Hurrians, so I’ve taken some liberties in filling in blanks… while this list is based in real world myth it certainly shouldn’t be taken as accurately reflecting what turned out to be a really complicated story spanning over 1000 years. If you know more about this part of history than me—which would not be difficult—I would love to hear feedback and suggestions for how to improve things and what I mangled!
