The Dust of Creation is a planar paradox, a place where the cycle of life and death intertwines within the decaying vastness of the Quasi-Elemental Plane of Dust. It is here, in this land of perpetual muck and erosion, that Odaiel, a deity of both creation and destruction, holds sway. Odaiel is revered by a desert-dwelling civilisation on an obscure Prime Material Plane, seen as the divine craftsman who sculpted life from mud and dust and then reclaims it into the same at life’s end.
Odaiel’s followers believe that their essence is moulded from the Dust of Creation wetted with the Waters of Life, then baked into shape like clay and that, upon death, they return to this primordial state as petitioners, becoming part of the swirling dusty clouds that fuel the birth of new souls. In this way, the disintegration of the plane doesn’t signify an end but a transformation, a waiting room for rebirth into the Prime.

Serving Odaiel are the Dust Devas, proxies that are asuras by another name. They draw their sustenance not from the Positive Energy Plane, as their kin might, but from the Dust of Creation itself. Their wings, rather than wreathed in flame, shimmer with the very dust that defines their existence.
But Odaiel harbors a dark secret, a vengeful plot against the worshippers of Zenith, a deity of the plane of Vacuum who rivals Odaiel in influence. This vendetta is personal; Zenith has claimed the life of Odaiel’s mortal offspring, Shahel. This celestial feud plays out in the heavens and on the dunes of the Prime, where the followers of both gods strive for dominance.
As for the Dust of Creation, within its essence lies a seed of positive energy, a life force that defies the plane’s entropic nature. Those who bear the holy symbol of Odaiel and possess the necessary know-how can harness this energy. With the correct spell key, they can negate the plane’s disintegrating effects and tap into a wellspring of creation, all without casting a traditional spell, but through the art of Spellcraft and the guidance of those who wish to aid in Odaiel’s divine machinations.
