The confusingly-named Hammer Archon of Earth

Now, this is one of those conundrums that drive us Guvners right up the wall. Hammers are archon high-ups, who protect Mount Celestia in times of dire need. However, there’s also another kind of much weaker hammer archons—specialised underground warriors, who oppose Chaos and Evil with their earth-based magic and titular hammers. Only encountered here on the Plane of Earth fighting the forces of Elemental Evil, they stand outside of the holy Congregations of Mount Celestia.

Granted, these different ranks carry different weapons, and the archon language itself uses different names for them, but who speaks fluent archon these days? In Planar Common both of them were independently named hammer archons. Anyways, hammer archons seen on our plane have rocky skin, wear no armour and use a frightening warhammer. They can cast spells such as detect evil and wall of stone or hurl mighty spears of celestial stone.
