Mimir Level Up Complete
So after three years since the release of the 5e Planescape boxed set and relaunch of mimir.net, this site was getting close to its size limit. I’ve been rescaling older PNG images to WEBP for months now to claw back space, and in order for the site to continue growing something had to give.
Well, good news berks — mimir.net is now safely established (and backed up!) on its new server. What’s changed? Fundamentally, its a big boost in storage space. The new server has more than triple the capacity, which means there’s now room for three times the nonsense! It’s also able to handle many more visitors per month, and that’s useful, given the increasing traffic from so many modrons crawling the site these days.
The new server also has Cloudflare installed, which apparently means the site should respond more quickly too. Let me know if you notice a difference, I guess! If you spot anything broken please let me know, as far as I can tell the transfer went smoothly.
Finally, the best news. By signing up for a multi-year package I saved a load of jink, and it also means mimir.net is guaranteed to be right here for the next three years.
I want to say a huge thank you to the fabulous patrons whose generous contributions have made this possible. I really appreciate that the generosity of you folks has made this upgrade financially viable. May the yugoloths never learn your true names!
Watch the Spire!
