Tabula Rasa
More a monastic keep than a burg, really, this strange place in Zenador, the 3rd layer of the Abyss, is home to a cult of Ciphers who felt the need to explore their faction’s teachings further. Tabula Rasa is a small community tucked away high up in one of the few mountains in the layer. The Styx fumes are weaker up high, but still have a numbing effect on the Ciphers who chose to dwell here. It’s basically an experiment for them; the chant goes they want to find out if a cutter meditates to clear her mind, does she get the same kind of peace as someone who’s lost it all to amnesia. Meditation is one of the favourite pastimes of Ciphers, and this bunch want to prove it’s as good for getting a blood close to the Cadence of the planes as oblivion itself. If a planewalker can cope with their strange rituals and abstinences, Tabula Rasa is a safe haven in an otherwise rather dangerous layer.
