Wanderlust

Location: Outlands (Wandering)

Character: Never rest, never sleep, never remain the same. Let your mind wander the roads of philosophy, thinking in all directions and never becoming complacent with an idea. Question all things, never take anything at face value.

Description: Wanderlust, a burg found often in the Outlands, ain’t your typical stop on the planar pathway. This place embodies the very spirit of the word ‘wanderlust’ – it’s always on the move, always changing. You see, Wanderlust is a tricky place to pin down. It moves faster than a rider on horseback, slidin’ back and forth through the rings of the Land, and even nipping off the plane altogether. It’s like the burg’s got a mind of its own, following the whims and moods of its nomadic populace. This bunch, mostly made up of bariaur, kender, travellers, and homeless from all manner of races, keep the place shifting from site to site on the Great Ring. One day you might find it whirling around in the orderly fields of Automata, and the next it could be loungin’ in the wild freedom of Faunel. It ain’t so much that the burg packs up and moves, but the philosophical winds of the Outlands blow it around the plane much more quickly than other sites.

Now, findin’ Wanderlust ain’t as simple as followin’ a map. The best way to stumble upon this elusive burg is to let your instincts take the reins. Close your eyes, start walkin’, and just keep going where your feet take you. Within a few days, if the planes align just right, you’ll find yourself standing at the fringes of Wanderlust, wherever it may be at that moment in time.

The burg has a lively and dynamic atmosphere, cluttered with colourful temporary structures and tents, caravans and flying gas bags, all bustling with a mix of different races. It’s the burg that could be anywhere in the Outlands, a place that’s as much a state of mind as it is a single physical location. The overall mood here is adventurous and whimsical, with the spirit of eternal wanderlust defining this unique burg.
