Soundtracks to the Planes

This is where I’ll be collecting the music tracks that I’ve curated over the years that make me think of the planes. Some might be useful for background music in Planescape games, others I like to listen to while writing. I very much hope you enjoy!

More planes to follow!

Please also check out the Mimir YouTube channel for original Planescapey music here, or the individual pages on this website, here.

Mechanus

Music suitable for a trip inside an infinite machine

Sigil

Music suitable for Sigil’s streets, safe or otherwise

Planar Cocktail Music

Music suitable for a classy drinking establishment in Sigil

Compiled by: Jon Winter-Holt. The Apple Music playlist will always be the most up-to-date but requires a subscription to hear more than the first 90 seconds of a track. The YouTube playlist should be free to play, may contain adverts. I don’t really use Amazon or Spotify much myself so please let me know if these links don’t work.

Links to Other People’s Work

Planescape: Torment Soundtrack — @RPGLegendarySoundtracks, the classic score

D&D Planescape Music and Ambience — @hypercardioide, I think these are mixes of music and tracks from games, very nicely done

Tabletop Orchestral — @kumashovcomposer2858, original compositions of orchestral planar background music

Anytime! There’s two more on his channel that aren’t listed on the playlist, admittedly, Baator and Carceri.

The dude does fantastic work. I really feel like he captured the feeling and aesthetic of the setting.
