Chadali

The Serendipitous Path, Our Lady of Fortunate Detours (planar tulani eladrin empyreal lord [she/her] / CG)
Portfolio: Fate, safety and serendipity
Realm: Arborea / Aquallor / Pavilion of Serendipity
Chadali is the eladrin lord who dances through fate’s crossroads without looking either way, nudging luck and weaving chance into the lives of mortals. If you’ve ever dodged a disaster by a hair’s breadth, accidentally stumbled into a life-changing meeting, or found yourself inexplicably saved by an unlikely series of events when all signs said you were a goner, you might owe Chadali a drink—or at least a whispered thanks.
They say a yellow aurora, a lunar eclipse, and a meteor shower once danced together in the skies of Aquallor, and from that cosmic coincidence, Chadali was born—a living embodiment of fate’s best surprises. She embraces the unpredictability of fate—she teaches that the best lived life is never on a straight road—it’s a winding path full of forks, hidden doors, and sudden switchback turns. But oh, the view from the top! Chadali is all about the beauty in unpredictability, and the wild joy of not knowing what comes next.
She’s the guardian of travellers, and the patron of those who walk into the unknown without planning. Her protection is subtle—an assassin’s arrow missing because you stooped to tie your shoelace, a lucky stumble where you’re caught by a timely stranger who turns out to be your soulmate. She is the spark behind happy accidents and she’s a muse of fortune-tellers. Chadali believes the universe is full of coincidences, just out there and waiting for the bold and the open-hearted to discover them.
Chadali appears as a beautiful, middle-aged woman with skin like warm sand and eyes that constantly drift from the ground to the stars. Her shining black hair is woven with fresh water lilies, and she prefers gowns of pale yellow silks that shimmer like dawn. She usually carries a net of red threads, each strand glinting with tiny rubies—rumour has it, every ruby is a moment of luck she’s spun into the world. Ask her about that and she might tell you its to catch falling stars. Or maybe rainbows. And then she laughs.
She’s got a gentle, knowing smile—like she’s in on a cosmic joke and wants you to be, too. Chadali is patient with the hesitant and kind to the anxious, but she’s no fan of those who try to lock down every detail of their lives. She loves a good risk and delights in hearing a cutter’s stories of bold choices and unexpected blessings. Her presence feels like the fresh breeze at the top of a mountain, or the calm that comes over you after a near miss.
For Chadali, goodness is found in trust—trusting fate, trusting others, and trusting yourself to step out into the unknown. She teaches that the greatest evil is to wall yourself off from surprises, to fear the world so much that you never let serendipity in. Her followers believe that every twist of fortune—even the ones that might seem bad at first—is a chance to grow, and that sometimes, the best safety net is the courage you muster to take the leap.
Among the eladrin, Chadali’s the blood they call when the path ahead is foggy or the dice are rolling wild. She’s venerated by fortune-tellers, planewalkers, gamblers, and anyone facing a big decision. She’s a friend to Desna and a gentle rival to more controlling powers who’d rather fate be tamed.
Trust the Path, and let your net catch what you’re meant to find

The Pavilion of Serendipity

Chadali’s home is the Pavilion of Serendipity, a luminous palace of shifting light and open-air halls, perched on the shores of the Boundless Azure Ocean in Aquallor. The pavilion’s rooms rearrange themselves constantly, and visitors often find themselves in places they never intended, but always where they most need to be. The air is thick with the scent of lilies and the sound of distant laughter. Here, even the most lost soul finds a path—and sometimes, a new purpose.
Planewalkers tell tales of Chadali appearing at a crossroads to nudge a traveller onto the right path with a wink and a cryptic word. She is the luck in the leap, the safety in the stumble, and the friend you didn’t know you needed at the fork in the road. She’s proof that fate’s not a trap, but a dance—and that the best journeys are the ones you never planned.
